Description - PM type 17 (JC) type 26 (RF-MN) urban duplex with left side double ring Madras India Paid in-between, plus date with year two lines. Right side circle latticed diamond within (similar to later PM type 31 without enclosing circle used in Madras sub-region amongst other regions). C-1 numeral below always present, without defined inset.   

In use Madras City, apparently applied to outgoing mail for a short period 1864-65, although examples are likely to exist earlier or later. On cover considered Very scarce.

The few on cover instances in this collection date between 2nd February 1864 to 5th October 1865.
