To collect British India stamps with Official overprints is more complex and more interesting to some than without. Overprints and surcharges add opportunity to find many error, some of which are very scarce or rare, making Officials an interesting area of interest, especially the early examples and Fiscal stamp replacement stock of 1866, where forgeries and reprints are rife.
